Summary Information
Truck parking information systems designed as part of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) SmartPark and Commercial Vehicle Information Systems and Networks (CVISN) Programs were estimated to cost $391,000 or more per site with $5,500 expended annually for routine O&M (2015).
These systems used entrance/exit scanners and required manual surveillance of parking areas using static surveillance cameras to verify parking availability information posted on a wide-area network of DMS units.
