Insights from the 2020 DTS: Data Collection and Use: Transit Agencies

Insights from the 2020 DTS on Data Collection and Use for Transit Agencies, including that a large majority of surveyed transit agencies collect and/or archive vehicle time and location data (87 percent) in real-time. Nearly two-thirds collect and/or archive passenger count data (63 percent). A large majority of surveyed transit agencies (78 percent) use ITS data for route and service planning.
