AVL system to integrate with computer-aided dispatch system and improve response dispatch and routing.
Jonesboro, Georgia, United States
Public safety agencies in Clayton County, Georgia are moving forward with plans to equip 230 vehicles with Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) devices for an anticipated cost of $570,337. Project funding came from the county’s general fund and fire fund.
It is expected the deployment will reduce response time to incidents within the county by changing the method of dispatching calls from a designated response area, to a system dispatching based on the current location of the closest unit and integrating with the CAD (computer-aided dispatch).
