Special Topic Deployment Surveys - Connected Vehicle (CV) and Automated Vehicle (AV)
The 2019 Connected Vehicle (CV) and Automated Vehicle (AV) Survey was conducted as part of an ongoing effort by the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Joint Program Office (JPO) to track the deployment of ITS.
The 2019 CV/AV survey was administered to freeway, arterial, and transit management agencies from a subset of large metropolitan areas. The survey instrument, data files, and final report are available for download.

- The questionnaire was administered to freeway, arterial and transit agencies.
- The Arterial data file includes three spreadsheets: the data dictionary, the raw data, and summary statistics for all variables.
- The Freeway data file includes three spreadsheets: the data dictionary, the raw data, and summary statistics for all variables.
- The Transit data file includes three spreadsheets: the data dictionary, the raw data, and summary statistics for all variables.
- This data file combines the data from freeway, arterial and transit management agencies into one data file.
This file shows similar CV/AV questions across survey years (note: CV questions were first included in the ITS Deployment Tracking Survey in 2016, and there were no AV questions before 2019)
