Road Weather Information System (RWIS) 25 5.91 - (1998) 0.13 - 0.82 (2001)

A RWIS consists of several components: an environmental sensing station (ESS), CPU, workstation with RWIS software, and communications equipment. All components of the RWIS reside at the TMC with the exception of the ESS. See Roadside Detection subsystem for costs of ESS. The cost of the ESS should be added to cost listed here to estimate the cost out the entire system. CPU replaced every five years. O&M costs range includes communication, and optional weather forecast/meteorological service.
