Gwinnett County's Connected Vehicle Technology Master Plan details cost data to implement DSRC.

As part of a Smart Corridor project, Gwinnett County will deploy roadside units (RSUs), onboard units (OBUs), and test software, in collaboration with GDOT to support implementation of a Connected Vehicle Technology Master Plan (CVTMP). The overall goal is to deploy dedicated short range communication (DSRC) equipment at 92 state route intersections including 36 intersections on corridors of SR 140 and SR 141.
Applications including Signal Phase and Timing Information (SPaT), Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP), Transit Signal Priority (TSP), Construction and Maintenance Vehicle Alerts, Railroad Intersection Blocked Alerts, and Pedestrian Presence Alerts (PPA) were scheduled to be implemented and tested in 2020.
The table below excerpted from the source report provides high-level cost estimates for several system elements required for the deployment. The estimates were based on cost data collected from existing deployments. Additional functionality being integrated into these systems such as over-the-air updates, are expected to decrease deployment costs for similar system in the future.
The RSU cost estimate included the cost for mapping the intersection in addition to purchasing RSUs and installing them in the field.
