This project expanded the region's communications infrastructure by installing over 6 miles of fiber optic cable and communications links, along the following locations.

  • SR 500 between I-5 and Andresen Road
  • I-205 from SR 14 to 83rd Street
  • City arterials to connect the I-5 corridor to the City of Vancouver/Clark County transportation office
  • City arterials to connect the City of Vancouver and the City of Camas with the Southwest Region's TMC

The communications system included connections to other agencies involved in regional traffic management efforts including the Oregon Department of Transportation.
No additional funding or personnel were provided to handle the operations or maintenance of this system.
